With your partner(s), create a movie that explains one of the following "In Plain English." Remember to keep the narrative at a basic level. You want anyone watching to walk away understanding your topic.
- The Basics of the Constitution
- The Amendments
- Struggle with the Articles of Confederation
Example "In Plain English" video:
Objective: Demonstrate your understanding of
- How the Constitution is set forth and what it does, or
- What the amendments do, or
- What went wrong with the Articles of Confederation.
Rubric:
- Content: Does the movie cover the required content? Does it cover the topic thoroughly? 20 points
- Accuracy: Is the content sound? Is it accurate? 10 points
- Story Flow: Does the movie take the audience from an introduction, to the body, to the conclusion? ("In Plain English" - Does it have a beginning, middle, and end?) 10 points
- Narration: Is the narration appropriate, using correct English? Is it level appropriate ("In Plain English" - would the average person watching understand what you mean?) Is the audio level sufficient (can it be heard?) 5 points
- Use of Images/Filming: Are the images helpful to the overall understanding of the material? Are they creative, yet simplistic? Is the lighting adequate to see the images? Was the filming helpful or does it distract the audience? 20 points
