Expedition Act: -Congress supported limiting trusts -Established the Department of Commerce and Labor to investigate commerce Interstate Commerce Commission: -Worked to end unfair practices and political influence in the railroad industry Hepburn Act: -Followed and strengthened the Interstate Commerce Commission Coal Strike of 1902: -Ended the Coal Strike with a legally questionable seizure of the mines in question by federal troops -Showed he was dedicated to a healthy economy because he made sure the workers continued working and the mines were not shut down Conservation: -Believed in the planned management of natural resources -Created five national parks, including Yellowstone National Park Forest Reserve Act: -Gave presidents the power to set aside land for national forests and turn land in the public domain into land set aside for forests Newlands Act: -Provided irrigation to arid states |
