Videography Archive - The videography class began in the 2005-2006 school. It began with 2 older Sony cameras and imovie. By the 2nd quarter of that year, the class had "graduated" to 2 Sony DCR-VX2100.

Documentaries
When the War Got Personal: The Story of the Men of the USS Hoel (DD 533): In October 2007, Mr. Engell and four students accompanied life-long Petersburg resident, Erling Husvik, to Tucson, Arizona. The documentary crew shot over 10 hours of video including interviews with survivors of the USS Hoel (DD 533) which was sunk on October 25, 1944. The interviews have been turned into a documentary entitled When the War Got Personal: The Story of the Men of the USS Hoel (DD 533). Running time 83 minutes

Veterans' Day 2008: The Tet Offensive - This documentary tells the story of the Tet Offensive through the eyes of local Petersburg veterans Tim Koeneman and John Johnson. It was filmed in the Petersburg High School gym and debuted to the Petersburg High School student body on Veterans' Day 2008.

A Zombie Movie - This short movie was the senior project of Mac McCullough, Tom Holtslander, and Justin Thorsen.
PBJ Kung Fu Movie (Enter the Sandwich) - This short movie was the first attempt of making a movie. The concept was created by the class in the spring of 2007. The filming of the movie took place in the school.

Camera Skill Practice (theme project)
Theme Project - Boats 2007 The first project of each year for new students is to get familiar with our cameras. The project demonstrates their ability to pan, tilt, show depth of field, use fstop to get the shot they are looking for, rack, steady cam, and crane.

Viking Wrestling: A film crew spent some time at a wrestling practice in November 2007 to find out how things were going at that point for the Viking Wrestling team. The team eventually took 5th in state with Bobby Egen taking 1st place. Coach Schwartz was also inducted into the Alaska Wrestling Hall of Fame.

2.5 Dimensions Practice : This was practice to learn how add dimension to a 2D object. The process involves both photoshop and Motion.

Animated Spaceship 2.5 dimensions: This was another 2.5 practice by Joe Zarlengo. He used Photoshop Elements to cut out the spaceship and then animated it in Motion.
Dolly Effect: This effect is something that we work on which provides a "Hitchcockesque" effect to a shot. It is done by moving the camera in the opposite direction of the zoom. It will cause the background to either stretch or extend. It works best with a dolly and tripod.
